MEET THE DOCTOR
 |
Dr. Shimizu was born and raised in New Jersey. He attended Colgate University in New York for his Bachelors Degree and graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in 1986.
Dr. Shimizu has been in private practice in the Los Angeles area since completing a two-year general practice residency program at the V.A. Medical Center located in the San Fernando Valley in 1988.
Dr. Shimizu has taught dental hygiene and removable prosthodontics as Pasadena City College and UCLA and has volunteered with the Flying Samaritans.
Dr. Shimizu belongs to the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, the Orange County Dental Society, and is a member of the Japanese American Dental Society.
When not at work, Dr. Shimizu enjoys golfing and trying to stay fit or experiencing some of the wonderful sites that Southern California has to offer. |

Linda Zeller is our Practice Administrator. She has been in the dental field for 25+ years. She graduated from dental assisting school in San Bernardino. She has been with the office for 5 years. She resides with her husband, daughter, two dogs, a cat and two chinchillas. She enjoys camping with friends, kicking back and reading a good book and under duress sews complicated costumes for her daughter. Linda is the person to ask insurance or billing questions, to schedule appointments and answer questions pertaining to your treatment. If she doesn’t know the answer she will help you to find the person to answer your question. |

Bernadette (Bernie) Riggi, R.D.H., is a registered dental hygienist. She graduated from Cerritos College dental hygiene program. She has been in the dental field for 27+ years, first as a dental assistant and now as a RDH. She has been with the office for 24 years and the last 17 has been with Dr. Shimizu. She was a member of the part time faculty U.S.C. dental school non surgical periodontal department for 15 years. She also worked for 11 years at Children’s Dental Center. She has three children, four grandchildren and is awaiting the birth of her fifth grandchild. She enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and friends, she also enjoys traveling and going on road trips. She has done volunteer work with Flying Samaritans and volunteers at her church. As a hygienist Bernie will be involved with your oral hygiene and hygiene instruction, she will help you with any hygiene questions you may have and make recommendations regarding your oral hygiene as it relates to your health. |

Linh Ho, R.D.H., is a registered dental hygienist. She recently graduated from USC and although she hasn't been in the dental field for long we have had excellent feedback from the patients who have seen her commenting on her gentleness and thoroughness. As a hygienist Linh will be involved with your oral hygiene and hygiene instruction, she will help you with any hygiene questions you may have and make recommendations regarding your oral hygiene as it relates to your health. Her family consists of her Mom, Dad and 5 siblings. In her spare time she enjoys art, reading, dance, traveling, and football (watching, I hope!). We are happy to welcome her as a member of our practice. |

Imelda Macatlang, R.D.A., is our registered dental assistant. She completed her dental training in the Philippines then went on to become a RDA(registered dental assistant) in California. She has been in the dental field for 16 years and has been at this office for 1 1/2 years. Imelda is the person to ask about your treatment or if you have a particular question about how a procedure is done. She lives with Sherwin, her 3 sons Jules, Miles and Enno and her dog Coco. In her spare time she enjoys camping trips with her family and friends and taking road trips. She also volunteers at her children's school and church. |
